Clad in the Pride of the Samurai
Branding for “Football Samurai Academy,” a Japanese football club based in London. At its founding, the goal was to visually embody the Japanese spirit symbolized by the name “Samurai” as an attitude of continually taking on challenges on the international stage.
The logo depicts a samurai in armor striking a ball, framed in a trapezoid that emphasizes strength. By breaking out of the frame, it conveys dynamism and leaves a vivid impression of the club’s fighting spirit. Business cards incorporated sumi-e style illustrations, creating a refined tone that bridges tradition and modernity.
Today, the club has grown into the largest Japanese football club in Europe, with players wearing the samurai emblem on their chests and making their mark beyond regions and nationalities.
サムライの誇りを身に纏う
ロンドンを拠点とする日系サッカークラブ「Football Samurai Academy」のブランディング。クラブ立ち上げに際し、サムライという名称が象徴する日本的精神を、国際的な舞台で挑戦を続ける姿勢として視覚的に表現しました。
ロゴは、甲冑をまといボールを蹴るサムライを描いたシンボル。台形のフレームで力強さを強調し、そこから飛び出すことで躍動感を与え、クラブの戦う姿勢を鮮烈に印象づけています。名刺には墨絵調のイラストを配し、伝統と現代をつなぐ端正なトーンを演出しました。
現在ではヨーロッパ最大の日系クラブへと成長し、胸元にサムライのエンブレムを抱いた選手が、地域や国籍を超えて活躍しています。
