MAU｜VCD Graduation Exhibition

A Multifaceted Gaze

Created in my fourth year at university, the visual design for the “Musashino Art University, Visual Communication Design Graduation Exhibition” reflects the program’s mission to explore the act of “seeing” and “communicating” through diverse forms of expression.

The key motifs were the pencil—symbolizing the origin of creation—and the basic shapes of circle, triangle, and square. In the exhibition catalog, pencils were arranged at varying angles and scales across the cover, spine, and back, creating a structure that allowed viewers to experience shifts in perspective and form throughout the book.

This visual identity was also applied to posters and direct mail, with the motifs evolving from micro to macro and from figurative to abstract, embodying the multiplicity of ways in which the act of seeing can be interpreted.

多角的まなざし

大学4年時に制作した「武蔵野美術大学 視覚伝達デザイン学科 卒業制作展」のビジュアルデザイン。本学科は「見る」と「伝える」を基盤に、多様な表現を実践的に探求する教育を行っています。

ビジュアルモチーフは、創造の原点である「鉛筆」と、図形の基本要素「丸・三角・四角」。作品集では、鉛筆を角度やスケールを変えて表紙・背表紙・裏表紙に配置し、一冊を通じて視点や造形の変化を体感できる構成としました。

このビジュアルはポスターやDMにも展開。ミクロからマクロへ、具象から抽象へと移ろうモチーフの表情を示し、「視る」という行為の多様性を象徴しています。
