TAKE PHYSICAL CONDITIONING GYM
A Hybrid Gym Bridging Sports and Medicine
Branding for “TAKE PHYSICAL CONDITIONING GYM,” produced by jockey Yutaka Take and opened in Ukyo, Kyoto. Based on physiotherapy, its original method supports everything from athletic performance to daily conditioning. The facility was consistently designed from naming to spatial identity for both athletes and the general public.
The gym introduced physiotherapy-based conditioning—still not widely recognized in Japan—as a “third category,” distinct from both gyms and hospitals. Serving as a hub that bridges rehabilitation and performance, it offered the assurance of medical grounding and professional expertise. Trainers and physiotherapists provided care and programs founded on scientific evidence, tailored to each individual.
The visual identity embodied the theme of “muscle expansion,” the essence of physiotherapy. Intersecting lines symbolized both the initial “t” of the brand and a medical cross, while grid patterns reminiscent of muscle fibers extended into the interiors, harmonizing with the traditional architectural design of Kyoto.
スポーツと医療の間に生まれたハイブリッドジム
京都府右京区で開業した、武豊騎手プロデュースの「TAKE PHYSICAL CONDITIONING GYM」のブランディング。理学療法をベースにした独自メソッドで、競技生活から日常の身体づくりまでを支援。アスリートから一般の方まで幅広い層を対象に、ネーミングから空間設計まで一貫して構築しました。
日本ではまだ広く認知されていない理学療法によるコンディショニングを、スポーツジムでも病院でもない「第三のカテゴリ」として提示。リハビリから競技力向上までを支える拠点として、医療的裏付けの安心感と専門性を備えた空間を創出しました。トレーナーや理学療法士が科学的根拠に基づくケアとトレーニングを提供し、一人ひとりに寄り添います。
理学療法の本質である“筋肉の可動域拡張”をテーマに、「伸縮する筋肉」を象徴化したVIを開発。交差するラインはブランド名の頭文字「t」を形づくると同時に、医療を想起させる十字モチーフにも展開。筋繊維を思わせる格子模様は内装にも用いられ、古都・京都の伝統的な建築意匠と調和しました。
