“Aete,” launched in 2024 by Ajinomoto Co., Inc., is a subscription-based frozen bento brand. Using proprietary rapid-freezing technology, it locks in the natural flavors and vibrant colors of ingredients, delivering a complete meal in a single dish with seasoned mixed rice and side dishes.
From naming and logo to copy, packaging, key visuals, and website, the entire brand was cohesively crafted. Rather than viewing frozen meals as a compromise, the brand seeks to redefine them as a positive, deliberate choice.
This bento isn’t something you choose because you’re short on time or ingredients. It’s a meal you select “on purpose”—with care for your own and your family’s well-being. With just a few minutes of heating, the aroma rises, the colors and flavors return, and the fluffy mixed rice satisfies to the last bite. Without pressure, yet with care.For those who value each day, it offers a special meal that adds a quiet sense of pride to your choice.“Aete” is a frozen bento born from that intention.
The brand has garnered attention, including receiving the Special Jury Prize at the Japan Naming Awards 2024.
あえて、選ぶ冷凍弁当。
「あえて、」は、味の素株式会社が2024年に立ち上げた、サブスクリプション型の冷凍弁当ブランドです。独自の急速冷凍技術により、素材本来の美味しさと彩りをそのまま閉じ込め、まぜご飯とおかずを一皿にまとめた “一食完結型” の冷凍弁当を提供しています。
ブランド立ち上げに際しては、ネーミング、ロゴ、コピー、パッケージ、キービジュアル、WEBまでを一貫して制作。冷凍＝妥協」ではなく、「冷凍＝前向きな選択肢」と捉え直す、新たな価値観の創出を目指しました。
この弁当は、時間や食材がないから “仕方なく” 選ぶものではありません。自分や家族の、健やかな心とからだを想い、「あえて、」選ぶ一膳です。数分温めるだけで立ちのぼる香り、よみがえる彩りと美味しさ。ふっくら炊き上げた混ぜご飯が、最後のひとくちまで心を満たします。気負わず、丁寧に。毎日を大切に紡ぐ人の選択に、そっと誇らしさを添える。「あえて、」は、そんな想いから生まれた冷凍弁当です。
「日本ネーミング大賞2024」では、審査委員特別賞を受賞するなど、注目を集めています。
