Dancing African Squatters

Artwork for the alternative rock band AFRICAEMO’s album squatter. The band builds on the physical intensity of post-rock and hardcore, channeling it into liberating, dance-driven music.

Against a vivid yellow backdrop, “squatters” drawn in a style reminiscent of African art multiply and fill the frame, dancing wildly as if to seize the space. Their chaotic yet celebratory presence visually embodies the music’s physicality and sense of release.

From the jacket to the booklet and even the disc itself, countless squatters crowd together, saturating the world with overwhelming density. True to the title Squatter, the visuals depict a world that explodes with vitality while breaking rules, resonating closely with the band’s sound.

踊り狂うアフリカンな不法占拠者

オルタナティブロックバンドAFRICAEMO「squatter」のアートワーク。バンドはポストロックやハードコアを経由したフィジカルな演奏を軸に、開放感あふれるダンス・ミュージックを鳴らしています。

ビビッドなイエローの背景に、アフリカンアートを思わせるタッチで描かれた「Squatter」たちが増殖し、画面を占拠するように踊り狂う。混沌と祝祭が同居するその姿は、音楽の肉体性と解放感を視覚的に体現しています。

ジャケットからブックレット、盤面に至るまで、無数のSquatterがひしめき合い、圧倒的な密度で世界を埋め尽くす。タイトル「squatter」の名の通り、ルールを逸脱しながら生命力を爆発させる世界観を描き出し、バンドのサウンドと響き合わせました。
