Rice Ears That Glow and Sway in Response to Human Presence

Inspired by golden rice swaying in the wind, “INAHO” is an interior light shaped like an ear of grain. Each 3mm carbon-fiber stem is tipped with a small golden tube containing an LED, while tiny perforations allow points of light to emerge like grains of rice. By translating a natural motif into a minimal structure, the design creates a presence that is both delicate and warm.

A motion sensor embedded in the base causes the stems to sway gently as people approach, echoing rice bending in the breeze. When multiple units are placed together, the illuminated ears respond to human movement, forming a poetic landscape for hallways and entrances. By extracting the essence of nature and reconstructing it with the fewest possible elements, INAHO brings freshness, familiarity, and quiet surprise into everyday space.

人の気配に呼応して、揺れ、光る稲穂

風にそよぐ黄金の稲穂から着想した照明「INAHO」。直径3mmの細いカーボンファイバーの茎の先端に、LEDを収めた金色の筒を配しました。筒には微細な孔が空けられ、稲の粒を思わせる光が点のようににじみ出します。自然のモチーフを最小限の造形へと置き換えることで、繊細さと温もりをあわせ持つ存在感を生み出しました。

土台には人感センサーを内蔵し、人が近づくと稲穂のようにゆっくりと揺れ始めます。複数本を並べることで、光の穂が人の動きに呼応してたなびく風景が生まれ、通路やエントランスを詩的に演出します。自然の特徴を抽出し、少ない要素で再構築することで、新鮮な驚きと親しみを備えたプロダクトに仕上げました。
