Bubbles of Light, Quietly Coming Alive

“KIHOU” is an ambient light that uses liquid and air bubbles to create a soft, fantastical glow. Inside the vessel, two liquids of different viscosities overlap, while a small pump and concealed LED send illuminated bubbles rising continuously to the surface. Emerging from beneath the darker liquid layer, each bubble shimmers and drifts, gently lighting the surrounding space.

As bubbles form and disappear in an irregular rhythm, the thickness of the liquid and the lightness of the oil create unpredictable expressions of light. This coexistence of chance and order gives the vessel a living presence, evoking intimacy and quiet resonance. KIHOU transforms a simple fixture into a small luminous phenomenon that changes over time, engaging not only sight but also the senses and emotions.

静かに息づく、気泡の光

液体と気泡によって幻想的な光を生み出すアンビエントライト「KIHOU」。器の内部では、粘度の異なる2種類の液体が重なり合い、小型ポンプとLEDによって照らされた気泡が水面へと連続的に立ち上がります。暗い液層の奥から浮かび上がる光の泡は、ゆらぎながら漂い、周囲の空間をやわらかく照らします。

気泡が生まれては消えていく不規則なリズムと、液体の重さ、油の軽さが重なり、光はそのたびに異なる表情を見せます。偶然性と秩序が共存するこの現象は、器そのものに小さな生命感を与えます。KIHOUは、単なる照明器具を、時間とともに変化する小さな光の現象へと変え、視覚だけでなく感覚や感情にも静かに働きかけます。
