Seed of Life

To Read Is to Sow Seeds

Created in my third year at university, “Seeds of Life” was submitted to the Mainichi Advertising Design Awards with Iwanami Bunko as the chosen client.

Reading has no immediate effect, yet it gradually accumulates within the mind, expanding one’s vision and thinking over time. I expressed this act as “sowing seeds for the future self.” The concept resonated with Iwanami Bunko’s iconic “sower” symbol, while the tiny letters of its pocket editions were reimagined as seeds, elevating the idea into visual form.

The work received the Excellence Award (Runner-up Grand Prix). It became a personal milestone, where I first experienced the power of uniting visual and copy into a single, integrated message.
