Tabekko Dobutsu Puzzle

An English-Learning Puzzle Inspired by Animal Biscuits

Tool design created for an edutainment project by AEON Fantasy and Ginbis, based on the long-selling snack “Tabekko Doubutsu.” Using the product’s unique features, we developed a puzzle that lets children learn English while playing. By turning a familiar treat into a tool, the project combines fun and education.

“Tabekko Doubutsu” is known for animal-shaped biscuits printed with English words. Building on this idea, the puzzle board includes Japanese translations. As a response to the snack’s English-only format, the design creates a new learning experience where children match shape and meaning, reinforcing understanding through play.

Each puzzle piece replicates the biscuits in actual size and thickness, with colors and textures realistically reproduced. Distributed as if embedded in a dough-like board before cutting, the set evokes unbaked biscuits. In this way, children enjoy a natural and approachable way of learning English, inspired by a snack they already know and love.

英語の答え合わせができる、“たべっ子どうぶつ”パズル

イオンファンタジーとギンビスによる、エデュテイメント施策向けに制作した「たべっ子どうぶつ」のツールデザイン。ロングセラー商品の特長を活かし、遊びながら英語を学べるパズルを企画しました。親しみあるお菓子を題材に、楽しさと学びを一体化させています。

「たべっ子どうぶつ」は、動物の形をしたビスケットに英単語がプリントされているのが特長です。この仕組みを応用し、パズルボードには和訳を配置。英語表記のみだった商品へのアンサーとして、形と意味のマッチングを通じた新しい学習体験をデザインしました。

ピースは実際のビスケットと同じ大きさ・厚みで、色味や質感もリアルに再現。型抜き前の生地風ボードに収まった状態で配布され、子どもたちが馴染みあるお菓子をきっかけに、楽しく自然に英語を学べる体験を提供しています。
