Tabekko Dobutsu Puzzle

An English-Learning Puzzle Inspired by Animal Biscuits

Tool design for Aeon Fantasy and Ginbis, created as part of an edutainment initiative. Building on the appeal of the long-selling snack “Tabekko Doubutsu,” the project introduced a puzzle that allows children to learn English while playing, merging fun and education through a familiar treat.

“Tabekko Doubutsu” biscuits are shaped like animals with English words printed on them. Expanding on this feature, the puzzle board displayed Japanese translations. It served as an “answer key” to the product’s English-only format, enabling a new learning experience that linked shapes with meanings.

The puzzle pieces replicated the biscuits in size, thickness, and texture, while the board resembled unbaked dough with cutout slots. Distributed in this form, it provided children with a playful and intuitive opportunity to learn English, using a beloved snack as the gateway to discovery.

英語の答え合わせができる、“たべっ子どうぶつ”パズル

イオンファンタジーとギンビスによるエデュテイメント施策のための「たべっ子どうぶつ」ツールデザイン。ロングセラー商品の特長を活かし、遊びながら英語を学べるパズルを企画しました。親しみあるお菓子を題材に、楽しさと学びを一体化させています。

「たべっ子どうぶつ」は動物の形をしたビスケットに英単語がプリントされているのが特長です。この仕組みを応用し、パズルボードには和訳を配置。英語表記のみだった商品へのアンサーとして、形と意味を結びつける新しい学習体験をデザインしました。

ピースは実際のビスケットと同じ大きさ・厚みで、色味や質感もリアルに再現。型抜き前の生地風ボードに収まった状態で配布され、子どもたちが馴染みあるお菓子をきっかけに、自然に英語を学べる体験を提供しています。
