Aete, A Chosen Frozen Meal
Branding for the frozen bento brand “Aete,” launched by Ajinomoto Co., Inc. in 2024 as a subscription-based service. Using proprietary rapid-freezing technology, it locks in the natural taste and color of ingredients, serving a complete meal on one plate by combining seasoned rice with side dishes.
Rather than viewing frozen bentos as a “compromise” or “substitute,” the brand redefines them as a “positive choice” that supports an authentic lifestyle, presenting a new perspective on food. This philosophy is embodied in the brand naming “Aete,” which adds a period after the conjunction to leave a sense of pause and openness. It reflects the idea of instilling small acts of will into everyday life, turning the act of choosing into something positive.
Key visuals highlight the appeal of the products through refined photography while employing copywriting techniques. By placing “Aete” in the latter half of text describing “the difficulty of cooking from scratch every day,” the structure conveys that these bentos are not something chosen out of necessity, but rather “a meal consciously chosen” with one’s own and one’s family’s well-being in mind.
あえて、選ぶ冷凍弁当
冷凍弁当ブランド「あえて、」のブランディング。味の素株式会社が2024年に立ち上げたサブスクリプション型サービスで、独自の急速冷凍技術により素材本来の美味しさと彩りを閉じ込め、まぜご飯とおかずを一皿にまとめた“一食完結型”を特徴としています。
冷凍弁当を「妥協」や「代替」ではなく、自分らしい暮らしを支える「前向きな選択肢」として捉え直し、食に対する新たな価値観を提示しました。その思想を象徴するのが、接続詞に句点を添えて余韻と余白を残すブランドネーミング「あえて、」。日常の中に小さな意志を宿し、選ぶこと自体をポジティブに変える姿勢を込めています。
キービジュアルでは、上質な写真で商品の魅力を際立たせつつ、コピーの構成に工夫を凝らしました。「毎日手作りを続けることの難しさ」を描いた文章の後半に「あえて、」を登場させることで、この弁当が「仕方なく選ぶもの」ではなく、自分や家族の健やかな心身を思い、「あえて選ぶ一膳」であることを鮮明に伝えています。
